Country music singer Granger Smith has announced the arrival of his fourth child! Granger’s wife Amber gave birth to their newest addition today, August 20th. He shared that mom and baby “are doing great.”
The couple is the proud parents of a baby boy whom they have chosen to name Maverick Beckham Smith! “He’s here! Wow…so many emotions,” Granger wrote in his post. “Maverick Beckham Smith made his debut today.” On their YouTube channel in May, the couple had previously shared the name of their fourth child.
At the time, the couple also revealed how Maverick’s name honors his late brother River Kelly. River passed away following a drowning incident in June 2019. In their video, Amber shared, “I really wanted Riv to be in the name, whatever name we picked, I wanted Riv to be a part of that name. We went back and forth – should we do middle name, Kelly? Or should we do middle name River? I wanted this baby to have his own identity, and I didn’t want him to be so tied to River. But I did want him to have a little piece of his brother in his name. Beckham, his middle name, essentially means ‘home by the river.’ So Maverick Beckham Smith.” As for Maverick’s first name, Granger shared that, “I’ve liked the name Maverick my whole life, and it’s always been just an awesome name to me.”
Maverick joins the Smith family with a brother named Lincoln and a sister named London. Congratulations to Granger and Amber on the arrival of their fourth child! We wish them all the best as they welcome Maverick into their family.
