Ingredients

  • Peaches: peaches are the star of the show! You can use either fresh or frozen peaches in this recipe. Since frozen peaches are easily available year-round, I tend to use those for this recipe.
  • Vanilla Bean And Nutmeg: if you want to get all fancy, you can use fresh vanilla beans in this recipe. But you can also add in a pinch of cinnamon, cloves or nutmeg for an easier and just as delicious puree. I added a pinch of fresh vanilla bean and nutmeg into this puree because I was feeling it. I always like to add in spices to my baby food purees, but you can omit them if you prefer.

COST PER OUNCE

Fresh peaches are seasonal and hard to find outside of the summer months. You can however find frozen peaches easily any time of the year. The average price for 12 ounces of frozen peaches is $3 for conventional, $3.36 for organic and $2.50 for fresh peaches.

If we do some math, this puree ranges in price from $0.25 – $0.28 per ounce.

Peach Baby Puree Costs (on average) – $0.26 per ounce
